Philosophy of Options
Alternative medicine, or holistic health, encompasses a philosophy that fosters total wellness and sees each person as a whole individual with his or her own menu of needs and requirements. It is not just the absence of disease or the elimination of isolated symptoms. The goal of holistic and natural healing techniques is to activate your "doctor within." It includes a lifestyle that supports this philosophy. Alternative health concentrates on the whole person, whereas present-day western medicine focuses more on specific illnesses and diseases. Getting to the root of a health problem is key to obtaining optimal health, and this is why a whole-body approach is used. This approach encompasses your client's physical, mental, emotional, and mental health. Services Provided by Helen K. Cox, RN, BSN, LDN Hair Analysis Interpretation - Trace Mineral Analysis (TMA), also known as hair analysis, measures the amount of the nutrient minerals and toxic metals in the body. The report shows mineral levels, imbalances, and toxicities. Nutrient mineral imbalances can be just as devastating to health as deficiencies or toxicities. Information from the TMA is used to determine vitamin/mineral supplementation and nutritional recommendations. Nutritional Counseling - There is a difference between diet and nutrition. Diet is what we eat, and nutrition is what we retain. With an unbalanced metabolism, nutritious food can be ingested but not properly absorbed. Imbalances in various mineral levels can be associated with behavior and learning problems. For example, excess sodium and potassium are usually associated with hyperactivity. Improper balance of these minerals can interfere with normal body functions. Options Center for Health & Education, Inc. e-mail options@mtco.com |
